Representative Dan Cullinane Endorsed by ELM Action Fund PAC

The Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund PAC has endorsed Representative Dan Cullinane of Boston in the election for the 12th Suffolk State Representative district, a credit to his commitment to the environment.

“Representative Cullinane has always understood the importance of serving his community,” stated ELM Action Fund Executive Director Joe O’Brien. “He knows that cities and towns across the state will benefit from a clean energy economy that will power us into the future.”

“Representative Cullinane has worked hard to make sure that residents in his district have natural areas in neighborhoods like Dorchester and Mattapan where parks and outdoor recreation opportunities were not always accessible,” said ELM Action Fund President Elizabeth Henry. “It is important that his district is represented by someone who understands the value of open, green space, both for the economy and our quality of life.”

Representative Cullinane worked with the Department of Conservation and Recreation to complete the Neponset Greenway nature trail to connect Central Ave. in Milton to Mattapan Square, providing opportunities for residents to bike and walk to nearby communities and transit options. He also understands the value of natural infrastructure in an urban environment. While in office, he secured important funding for trees and greenery to shade and beautify what would have otherwise been a barren heat island.

“As State Representative I’ve fought for the preservation of and investment in parks and green space throughout the 12th Suffolk District, and for the protection and expansion of public transportation,” said Representative Cullinane. “I am grateful to have the support of ELM, and proud to be an ally in the fight to combat climate change and protect our environment. I look forward to continuing to work with ELM to advance our shared pro-environment goals and vision in the coming legislative session and as long as I am State Representative of the 12th Suffolk District.”

Representative Cullinane attended Providence College as a first generation college student. He has served as Director of Constituent Services for State Representative, now Mayor, Martin J. Walsh, Communications Director to Boston City Councilor Maureen Feeney, and a Fair Labor Investigator in the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office. Representative Cullinane served on the Board of Directors of Action for Boston Community Development from 2009-2012 and was a field director and advisor to former State Senator Linda Dorcena Forry during her campaign.
