Endorsement Update

ELM Action Fund New Endorsees:
Carol Doherty of Taunton in the 3rd Bristol State Representative district

Carol has been an active community member and dedicated educator for decades. Her knowledge and experience will make her a strong ally in the State House. Carol is committed to getting Massachusetts to a net zero carbon economy. We look forward to working with her to meet these crucial clean energy goals.

“I believe it is more important than ever that we are proactive in tackling the climate crisis and protecting our environment in order to leave behind a livable world for our children and grandchildren,” said Doherty.

Carol has dedicated her life to improving education. She has been an elementary school teacher, President of the Massachusetts Teachers Association, Director of Professional Development in the School of Education at Northeastern University, and a Taunton School Committee member. Increasing clean energy and maintaining a healthy environment are top priorities for Carol’s campaign.

Dan Sena in the 37th Middlesex Representative district

Dan has a passion for renewable energy and transportation issues and an intimate knowledge of the State House. He has experience serving and advocating for the people of the 37th Middlesex. His vision for a 100% renewable Massachusetts and understanding of the funding needs of our environmental agencies will make him a strong ally in the State House.

“I’m honored to receive the endorsement of the Environmental League of Massachusetts (ELM) Action Fund,” said Dan Sena. “In my conversations with voters, protecting the environment and combating climate change are among their top priorities. I am committed to fighting for a Green Budget of dedicating 1% of the state budget to environmental agencies, investing state resources in climate resiliency for communities, and passing the 100% Renewable Energy legislation. That’s why I’m honored to receive the endorsement of the ELM Action Fund in my campaign to be elected the next State Representative of the 37th Middlesex District on Tuesday, June 2nd.”

Dan attended Middlesex Community College and UMass Amherst. He has spent the last six years serving as District Director for State Senator Jamie Eldridge, a dedicated environmental champion. Dan has made increasing renewable energy and improving public transit major priorities of his campaign. He also supports critical increases to the environmental budget including funding the Community Preservation Act and the Department of Environmental Protection.
