Rep. Adrian Madaro Endorsed by ELM Action Fund PAC

The Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund PAC has endorsed Representative Adrian Madaro of East Boston in the election for the 1st Suffolk State Representative district, a credit to his commitment to the environment.

“Representative Madaro knows how vital environmental protection is,” stated ELM Action Fund Executive Director Joe O’Brien. "He knows that in cities like East Boston and across the state we need to build a clean energy economy to prevent further effects of climate change and power us into the future."

“Representative Madaro has been a strong ally in our fight to restore environmental funding to 1% of the state budget,” said ELM Action Fund President Elizabeth Henry. “It is so important for a community like East Boston, vulnerable to the effects of climate change, to have a true environmental champion that will fight to protect their land and water and improve resilience.”

"Due to climate change, East Boston is particularly vulnerable to rising sea levels. This is one of the many reasons why I work hard to pursue measures that will better protect Massachusetts and our overall environment," said Representative Madero. "I am a strong supporter of an environmental bond bill that calls for millions of dollars in infrastructure improvements across the Commonwealth and I am working with local agencies like the Metropolitian Beaches Commission and the Department of Conservation and Recreation to create and improve green spaces across our neighborhoods. These green spaces will be designed to better absorb rainwater and mitigate damage caused by powerful storms. Together, we can create a safer, stronger, and more resilient Massachusetts."
