Joan Meschino Wins The Democratic Primary for the Plymouth and Norfolk State Senate Special Election

The ELM Action Fund congratulates Joan Meschino on her victory in the Democratic Primary for the open State Senate seat in the Plymouth and Norfolk District.  She will be facing Republican Primary winner Patrick O'Connor in the general election on May 10th.

We have been proud to support Joan Meschino because of her strong support on environmental issues, her impressive record of leadership as a Selectwoman in Hull and her commitment to addressing the adverse impacts of climate change on coastal communities. With critical issues of energy policy and environmental protection currently being debated in the legislature, the leadership of the ELM Action Fund believes it is important to elect leaders like Joan Meschino.

The ELM Action Fund is dedicated to building a more muscular political effort to support environmental champions and challenge adversaries.  Recent efforts have included “boots on the ground”, mailings, and phone banks for successful candidates in special elections including new state Senator Mike Brady of Brockton and new state Representative Tom Walsh of Peabody.  Over the next month the ELM Action Fund will be working to mobilize environmental voters in this district to support Joan Meschino through grassroots voter contact and social media outreach.  To learn about our work contact ELM Action Fund Political Director Joe O’Brien at jobrien@elmaction.org or 617-742-0474.
