The Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund today endorsed Adam Hinds for State Senate in the Berkshire District, a credit to his commitment to environmental issues and his passion for public service. With critical issues of energy policy and environmental protection to be addressed in the next legislative session, the leadership of the ELM Action Fund believes it is important to elect environmental leaders like Adam Hinds to the State Senate.
“We are proud to endorse Adam because of his strong commitment to addressing environmental issues both in his district and across the Commonwealth,” said Joe O’Brien, ELM Action Fund Political Director. “Adam understands the importance of our state investing in clean energy, sustainable transportation and parks to help address climate change, create jobs, and build healthier communities."
"I am delighted to receive the endorsement of the Environmental League Action Fund” said Hinds. “I have made energy and the environment a priority in my campaign, particularly the need to accelerate the transition to renewable energy. I look forward to working with ELM to this end."
Adam has extensive leadership experience in government and the non-profit sector. He is currently the Executive Director of the Northern Berkshire Community Coalition based in North Adams. Adam is deeply committed to protecting the environment and investing in a green energy to create jobs and reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. He has outlined a comprehensive environmental agenda for his district and the Commonwealth that can be found on his website at adamhinds.org.
The ELM Action Fund is a nonpartisan organization that helps pass laws that protect our environmental legacy, holds our elected officials accountable and works to build the political power of the environmental community.
Last year the ELM Action Fund and the national League of Conservation Voters launched a new affiliation and an aggressive plan to flex the environmental community’s policy muscle in Massachusetts. This fall the ELM Action Fund and the ELM Action Fund PAC have been working to educate and mobilize voters in key legislative races across the state.
