Representative Danielle Gregoire Endorsed by Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund

The Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund today endorsed Representative Danielle Gregoire for State Reprehensive in the 4th Middlesex district, a credit to her commitment to environmental issues and her passion for public service. With critical issues of energy policy and environmental protection to be addressed in the next legislative session, the leadership of the ELM Action Fund believes it is important to return environmental champions like Representative Gregoire to the State House.

“We are proud to endorse Representative Gregoire because of her strong commitment to addressing environmental issues both in her district and across the Commonwealth,” said Joe O’Brien, ELM Action Fund Political Director. “She understands the importance of our state investing in clean energy, sustainable transportation and parks to help address climate change, create jobs, and build healthier communities."

Representative Gregoire has seen firsthand the adverse impacts contaminated land can have on a community and she understands that upfront investment in environmental protection is the more cost effective approach.  As a legislator, Representative Gregoire has supported efforts to increase our state's generation of renewable energy and she also supported  efforts to prevent Massachusetts ratepayers from footing the bill for unneeded gas pipeline infrastructure.

Representative Gregoire was first elected to the Legislature in 2008 and in her tenure has been a leader on environmental issues. She recently earned a score of 97% on the ELM Action Fund's 2015-2016 Legislative Scorecard.  Representative Gregoire is facing a general election opponent in November. The ELM Action Fund is a nonpartisan organization that helps pass laws that protect our environmental legacy, holds our elected officials accountable and works to build the political power of the environmental community.  Last year the ELM Action Fund and the national League of Conservation Voters launched a new affiliation and an aggressive plan to flex the environmental community’s policy muscle in Massachusetts. This fall the ELM Action Fund and the ELM Action Fund PAC have been working to educate and mobilize voters in key legislative races across the state.
